I was introduced to Valeria by my friend Priscilla when I was inquiring about finding a model for a maternity gown that I had purchased from a company called Sew Trendy which specializes in maternity gowns and accessories. I messaged Valeria on Instagram and told her I'd love to do her maternity portraits if she'd be willing to model this gown that I'd purchased for my client closet. Of course she agreed and we got to work planning when and where. We decided on Prospect Park in Redlands CA. Prospect Park is a lovely 11.4 acre natural park with trails, picnic facilities and beautiful orange groves. The park contains the Avice Meeker Sewall Theater, an outdoor amphitheater with seating for 400+ people and the Kimberly Crest Estate. The park is a hot spot for photographers due to its natural beauty and picturesque setting. There were 4 other maternity shoots taking place while we were there. Valeria was a bit nervous in front of the camera at first but quickly loosened up and began to relax and enjoy the session. Ruben, her husband, was excited to be a part of the shoot and enjoyed being a model for the day. I used a floral crown that I'd made for another shoot to add a bit of drama to the maternity portraits. After a few outfit changes and a bit of walking to different locations we came away with some beautiful images that Valeria and Ruben can enjoy for years to come. We look forward to meeting Ruben jr. in March which is very fast approaching.
